The email forwarding option in Yahoo Mail has made it easier for the users to automatically forward their emails to another email address. With this option not only you can pass on the message to your near and dear ones, but you can also keep a backup of your important emails. However, when it comes to backing up your emails in bulk, this feature may not be able to serve the purpose. So, how is it that you can forward or backup emails in bulk?
To know how you can forward or back up emails in your Yahoo Mail account, you will need to follow the step-by-step instructions provided below. There are three methods provided below to help you easily forward emails to another email account. You can choose any of the methods as per your requirements.
Method 1: Steps for forwarding Yahoo Emails to Gmail
1.) Start by signing into your Gmail account.
2.) Once you are logged into your Gmail account, click on the Gear icon located on the top-right corner of the page. A drop-down menu will appear on your screen.
3.) From the drop-down menu that appears on the screen, select the Settings option. A Settings window will appear on your screen.
4.) In the Settings window, click on the Accounts and Import option located on the top.
5.) In the Accounts and Import section, go to the Check mail from other accounts section and click on the Add a mail account option. A box wills pop-up on your screen.
6.) In the box, you will need to enter your Yahoo Mail address in the provided field and click on the Next button.
7.) On the next screen, you will be given two options to link your account. The options will be:
- Link accounts with Gmailify
- Import emails from my other account (POP3)
By default, the first option “Link account with Gmailify” will be selected in the window. You can either change it or click on the Next button to get to the next step.
NOTE: It is suggested to use Gmailify option as this feature allows you to use spam protection, inbox organization, Google Now integrations and other features of Gmail without changing your Yahoo Mail address. If you select the second option “Import emails from my other account (POP3)”, you will be asked to provide the POP3 information before moving on to the next step.
8.) Considering that you have selected the first option “Link account with Gmailify”” and clicked on the Next button, you will be directed to the next window where you will be prompted to sign in to your Yahoo Mail account (if you wouldn’t have already) and allow permission to Gmail to have access to your profile and emails.
9.) Simply click on the Agree button and wait until you see a notification that your Yahoo Mail account has been configured to Gmail account for auto-forwarding emails.
10.) After the successful configuration, you will be able to receive emails from your Yahoo Mail account to a Gmail account.
Auto Forward Emails from Yahoo Email to Gmail
1.) Start by signing in to your Yahoo Mail account.
2.) Once you are logged into your Yahoo Mail account, click on the Gear icon located on the top-right corner of the page. A drop-down menu will appear on your screen.
3.) From the drop-down menu that appears on the screen, select the Settings option. A Settings window will appear on your screen.
4.) In the Settings window, click on the Accounts option located on the left-hand side panel.
5.) In the Accounts section, click on your Yahoo Mail account located on the right-hand side panel and scroll down to select the checkbox next to the option – “Forward: Your mail is forwarded to the specified address, so you can check it there”.
6.) Next, enter the Gmail address of the account to which you wish to auto-forward the emails from your Yahoo Mail account. After entering the Gmail address, click on the Verify button.
NOTE: If you want you can change the “Store and forward” option to “Store and forward, and mark as read”.
7.) As you will click on the Verify button, you will see a notification that “An email has been sent to [email protected]. Please log in to that address and follow the instructions in the email to begin forwarding”.
8.) Simply, sign in to the email account and open the email sent by Yahoo Mail. Follow the instructions provided in the email to set up your Yahoo Mail account for auto-forwarding the emails to another Gmail account.
Method 2: Forward Yahoo Emails to Outlook.com
- To begin with, you need to enable POP3 access on Yahoo account: hit the gear icon on the Yahoo Mail toolbar, choose “Settings,” you can choose the “Accounts” tab, hit the “Edit” button, choose the “POP” choice, and then hit “Save.”
- Later on, you need to sign in to Outlook.com account, hit the gear icon and choose “More Mail Settings.”
- Simply hit Click “Your Email Accounts” and then hit “Add a Send-and-Receive Account.”
- It’s time to enter your name, email address of Yahoo and password, hit “Next.”
- Finally, choose the Outlook.com folder for storing Yahoo messages, and then hit “Save” to start the importing process.
Method 3: Forwarding Yahoo Emails to Mail.com
- To start with, enable POP3 access on Yahoo account: hit the gear icon on the Yahoo Mail toolbar, choose “Settings,” opt for the “Accounts” tab, hit the “Edit” button which is next to Yahoo email address,
- Choose the “POP” choice, and then hit “Save.”
- Then sign in to Mail.com account and hit “Options”. Choose the “External Mail” tab, and then you need to check the box which is next to Enabled.
- At this stage, you need to enter your Yahoo username that too without @yahoo.com and enter password too. Just change the Host setting to “pop.mail.yahoo.com” that too with no quotes).
- Just change the Protocol setting to “Post Office Protocol over SSL,” and you need to alter the Port setting to “995”.
- With this, you need to check the box which is next to “Leave Mail on External Server”.
- Last but not the least, hit “Save” and “Close” for saving the settings and then return to your inbox, and hit “Fetch Ext. Mail” for beginning the procedure of importing the emails.
